Payroll can be prepared by employees within a company or can be outsourced to another company, in many different ways.  Many businesses have discovered that outsourcing of payroll duties to a professional service can be more cost effective, efficient, and provide more timely information and resources to their employees. This course details the third party options available for payroll outsourcing and explains the advantages and disadvantages of each. In addition, it explains employee leasing and certified professional employer organizations. The course walks the user through the steps for selecting a payroll processor for your company and presents companies that are currently payroll service providers.  Finally, the course explains how fraud occurs with payroll service providers, including examples of real life cases, and what can be done to prevent fraud.
